Brotherhood Initiative
BI student featured in Undergraduate Academic Affairs story
Auston Jimmicum grew up in Neah Bay and is part of the Makah Tribe. When he was in 2nd grade, Alternative Spring break visited his elementary school. That was the first time he had met college students. Fast forward to 2019, Jimmicum is now a senior majoring in law, justice and societies and minoring in American Indian studies. When he first arrived at UW, he felt like he didn’t belong. His involvement in Brotherhood Initiative, Pipeline Project and the Carlson Center’s Undergraduate Community-Based Internships have helped him find and value his own voice.
